Swiftly Does It. Russ Swift story

This is the story of Russ Swift - Mini stunt-driver extrordinaire.

There is some interesting footage of Russ’ early days in auto-tests (motorkhanas to Aussies) and loads of excellent action in Classic Minis and new MINIs.

Russ also demonstrates how to put a car on two wheels and keep it there. But, if you think it is worth trying this with your car, there is enough footage of his many mistakes along the learning way to quell that desire in most people. It is remarkable, though, to see him putting a 7 ton truck up on two wheels.

Russ’ son Paul also gets into the act, and there is some great footage of him at age 7 with a half-scale car, built for him by his dad, up on two wheels.

The introduction is very corny, but once you get through that, the rest is very entertaining and informative.

Russ also demonstrates the style that gave him three World Records - doing ten donuts in the quickest time (17.07sec), in his 4WD EVO Lancer; parallel parking in the shortest space (33cm longer than the car); and doing a J-turn (front-end throw) in the narrowest space.

Finally, there are some of the many TV commercials Russ has done for a variety of car makers.

But it is the Minis for which he is best known, and which take up the bulk of the film.

If you think you are a cracking driver, you might change your mind after watching this DVD.
